5 Stages of Golf Skills Development

Stage 1: Your Pre-Requisite

  • Developing physical literacy in order to achieve an athletic swing

  • Developing sound fundamentals in order to achieve swing efficiency

  • Developing effective practice plan and hold yourself accountable for your golf game

Stage 2: ​Controlling Low Point - Developing Impact Position

  • Developing solid impact positions through short game movement skills

  • Utilizing the Boditrak system to develop efficient footwork for a sound golf swing

  • Utilizing the K-Vest system to develop efficient upper and lower body movement

Stage 3: Power Game - Hitting the Ball Long Enough to Play the Golf Course

 

 

Stage 4: Club Face and Path Control - Direction

  • Understanding how the club face and path influence the ball's direction and curvature

  • Utilizing the FlightScope system to track the club face and path in each swing

 

 

Stage 5: Playing the Golf Course with Sound Mental Game and Effective Strategy
 

Students Learn:

  • Ball flight laws

  • Shaping shots

  • Controlling trajectories

  • Distant direction and spin of a golf ball

  • Properly preparing for golf shots

  • Developing a game plan for each golf course

  • Preparing for tournaments

  • Practicing properly

  • Keeping and analyze golf course statistics

  • Periodically developing and evaluating tournament goals

Accreditation

TPI consists of 16 physical screens, 12 major swing characteristics and multiple exercise protocols utilizing over 65 exercises. Students learn how to quickly identify any physical limitations that may be causing a player's swing inefficiencies and master simple solutions to get them back on track. 

TPI Junior focused on teaching the skills needed to run a junior golf program, focused on ages 17 and under. It will highlight TPI's Long Term Athletic Development Program and give you the tools needed to run and operate a successful junior golf program.

The Golf Mechanics focuses on the science of the golf swing. If you want an in-depth knowledge of how the swing works and the corresponding ball flights that can occur with each type of swing, this is the track for you. This is a must for any instructor who gives swing lessons on a daily basis and wants to help change or develop golf swing.
